Chennai IT engineer burnt alive for rejecting love in Adambakkam

In a shocking incident in Chennai, a 22-year old IT professional was burnt alive by her rejected lover at Adambakkam in Chennai.

The victim was identified as Sinduja and the accused was Akash aged 25 years who poured kerosene on the girl and set her on fire at her home in Saraswathi Street on Monday night.

Akash was a college dropout and proposed his love to Sinduja but she rejected his proposal. But he used to visit her home very often.

But recently he came to know that Sinduja’s family is in search of a groom for her. So he went to Sinduja’s home in Saraswathi Street on Monday night and initiated a fight. In a fit of rage, he took a kerosene bottle and set her on fire. He tried to escape from the spot but the neighbours caught him ad handed him over to the police.

Sinduja’s sister and mother were also injured in this incident when they tried to save her from the fire. But Sinduja was charred to death. Sinduja mother Renuka and sister Niveda are being treated at Kilpauk Medical College.

A case has been registered and investigations are on.
