Florida high school shooting kills 17 in Parkland on Wednesday; suspect taken to custody

In another incident of epidemic gun violence in the United States, 17 people were killed when a former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School opened fire with an AR-15 rifle in Parkland.

The Florida High School shooting took place on Wednesday when the gunman identified as Nikolaus Cruz aged 19 years shot the students with his AR-15 rifle killing 17 people after he was expelled from Florida high school for disciplinary actions.

In the Florida shooting incident, the students hid themselves in closets and under desks and they were terrified very much and texted for help.

Nikolaus Cruz was arrested later in the nearby town of Coral Springs after the Valentine’s Day rampage and was admitted in hospital with minor injuries.

Sheriff found that they started to investigate Cruz’s websites and his posts on social media and he was on and some of his things were very disturbing. They recovered many magazines and he had an AR-15 rifle.

At least 14 people were injured in Florida shooting incident and were taken to hospital and two of them died of gun wounds.

This Florida high school shooting is one of the nearly 20 shootings in this year 2018. The shooting incidents claimed the lives of nearly 33,000 lives and show the extent of gun violence in the United States due to ready availability of weapons.

The sheriff claimed the day as the most terrible day for Parkland which is located 50 miles north of Miami with a city of 30,000 people.

He was identified as a potential threat to fellow students last year itself as said by the teachers of the Florida high school and he was not allowed to enter the Florida school campus. He used to threaten students and so he was asked to leave the campus. This action led to Florida high school shooting that took lives of 17 students and with many other injured.
