KCR Kits scheme for newborns, mothers launched by Telangana government

Latest Telangana news : In one of his many social welfare schemes, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, popularly known as KCR, launched kits for pregnant women and new born babies in a government hospital in Hyderabad.

Dubbed as KCR Kits, the scheme worth Rs 2000 was started at the Petlaburj Maternity Hospital with an objective to financially help poor families with pregnant women and newborns with amount of up to Rs 12,000. The KCR Kits feature 15 items that include two baby dresses, a baby soap, baby oil, baby powder, mosquitoe net, towels, and a couple of sarees for the mother.

The KCR Kits scheme is applicable for those who give birth at government hospitals with a limit of two deliveries.

Telangana CM KCR has been quoted by Deccan Chronicle to have said: “We are doing service to humanity. But sometimes media reports negative news about government hospitals, particularly regarding non-availability of beds. This hospital has 462 beds but the deamnd is for over 700, which is a proof of its good work.

“Due to shortage of beds and increase in demand, this hospital is struggling to cater to the needs of all. One should thank the doctors for allowing extra patients.”

Meanwhile, ANI has reported that KCR also inspected the city’s cultural auditorium Ravindra Bharathi. The TRS supremo checked the block where the Cultural Affairs department is working while discussion different affairs with the officials there.

KCR has been reported to have ordered the officials to come up with appropriate arrangements and prepare plan of action for October’s World Telugu Conference.

The first CM of the newly formed state also asked suggestions to be offered to the government of measures to be taken to protect Telugu language and preserve its heritage.

KCR was accompanied with Telangana Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy, Chief Secretary SP Singh, Sahitya Academy Chairman Sri Nandini Sidhareddy, Government Advisor KV Ramanachary among other officials.
