Narendra Modi to launch Kochi Metro operations on 17 June

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Kochi, Kerala on June 17 to launch the Kochi Metro commercial operations for the Aluva-Palarivattom section, a 13km stretch, at the Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru stadium.

The Prime Minister will travel in a Kochi Metro train from Palarivattom to Pathadipalam and return to the same place alongside other dignitaries. The Narendra Modi ride in the Kochi Metro train is scheduled to take place before the official ribbon cutting at 11:00AM as per media reports.

On Saturday morning, Narendra Modi will reach the Naval airport located at Willingdon Island before arriving at the Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. About 3,500 guests have been invited to witness the Kochi Metro launch event in the location.

The venue and the route taken by the Indian PM will be given unprecedented security. A high level meeting of security agencies has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday at Thiruvananthapuram to chalk out the security plans for the Kochi Metro launch event.
