India’s diplomatic pressure on Palestine has succeeded as the country recalled Walid Abu Ali, its ambassador to Pakistan for sharing stage with globally designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed during the latter’s rally in Rawalpindi on Friday.

The news was revealed by Adnan Abu Al Haija, Palestinian envoy to India after New Delhi took serious objection to Walid Abu Ali endorsing Hafiz Saeed by attending the JuD rally.

Recently, India favored Palestine by voting for a referendum in the UN General Assembly to denounce the US recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and its decision to establish its embassy in the holy city.

The Palestinian envoy to India – Adnan Abu Al Haija asserted that the actions of Walid Abu Ali were not “acceptable” considering the close and friendly relationships between New Delhi and Palestine. Haija said that the recalled the Palestinian ambassador to Pakistan was given two days of time to pack and return from Pakistan.

The Palestinian envoy to India further said that the Palestine government had told Walid Abu Ali was no longer its ambassador in Pakistan.

On Saturday, the Indian government through its Ministry of External Affairs conveyed its anger over the participation of the Palestinian ambassador at Hafiz Saeed’s public meeting. India has been looking to get the head of Hafiz Saeed after his role in orchestrating the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.

However, the Pakistan government has been constantly ignoring India’s request of handing over Hafiz Saeed who of late has been looking to project himself as a new political force in the country while having the covert support of the army.
