Passengers safe after private bus catches fire in Vizianagaram of Andhra Pradesh

A private bus catches fire at Kiltampalem in S Kota mandal of Vizianagaram district  on Tuesday morning and the passenger in the bus are safe in this incident.

Around 28 passengers were in the bus when the incident took place and are reportedly safe. The bus caught fire when it reached Kiltampelem and was going to Araku in Visakhapatnam district from Vizianagaram.

The passengers who boarded the bus reported that the bus developed frequent snags since the journey was started. The bus engine turned off automatically when it reached the Kiltampelem and driver Srinivas attempted to start the bus repeatedly.

People in the bus noticed thick smoke coming from air-conditioning units in the bus and alerted the driver and all got down. In just few minutes, the bus went into flames.

A group of tourists hired this private bus belonging to Vijaya Laxmi Travels for a trip to Araku from Vizianagaram. The fire and police personnel immediately rushed to the spot and fire tenders doused the flames.

S Kota police officials said that they suspect that short-circuits might be the reason for the fire and they have registered a case and are carrying out the further investigation.
