Pune crime news: Telugu software techie ends life, says no job security in IT

A Telugu software engineer hailing from Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of a hotel room in Vimannagar area in Pune.

The deceased identified as Gopikrishna Guruprasad, aged 25 years started working for an IT company in Pune three days ago.

He left a suicide note in the hotel room which read ‘In IT there is no job security. I am worried a lot about my family’.

Gopikrishna Guruprasad is survived by his parents and a sister. Pune city police received a call and went to the suicide spot.

Dilip Jaisingkar, Assistant police inspector who was one among the police team went to the spot said that Gopikrishna Guruprasad had started working for Pitney Bowes company since July 9 and all the arrangements were made for him at the hotel by the company itself.

Gopikrishna jumped from the balcony of his room in sixth floor of the hotel at around 1:40 am on Wednesday. Two on-duty security guards rushed to the spot after hearing loud noise.

The guards then informed about it to the hotel manager and he informed the police. The ambulance was called then and rushed him to the hospital. He was declared brought dead by the hospital authorities.

Dilip Jaisingkar said that they found a suicide note and they had handed over the body to his family members after the completion of post mortem examination.

He added that Gopikrishna worked in Delhi and Hyderabad before moving to Pune. He said that they would speak to his colleagues in this company and family members as a part of investigation.
