School teacher set ablaze in front of students over business issues

A school teacher was set ablaze by her business partner in front of her students when she was teaching in the classroom in Shambaiahnapalya, Magadi taluk around 55 km from Bengaluru.

At the time of the incident, the 50-year-old government school teacher was teaching Social Science to class 5 students. The students were stunned to see the man poured kerosene on her and set her ablaze.

The man entered the classroom at around 2 pm and shouted at the teacher and argument took place for a while between them. A student said that the teacher asked the man to leave the classroom when he opened a bottle and poured liquid on her. He then struck a match and set her on fire.

The student added that they were helpless and screamed. Then the attacker fled the spot and all the frightened students ran out of the class to seek help from other teachers.

The school teacher identified as KG Sunanda was shifted to a private hospital with 50% burns. Doctors reported that she suffered severe burns and is kept under observation.

The attacker is identified as Renukaradhya and police are searching for him.
