Two dead, several injured in Trichy building collapse in Tamil Nadu

Trichy building collapse : Heavy rains in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy district have resulted in the bringing down a three storey-building this morning leaving two people dead.

Eleven people have been reported to be trapped under the debris in what is a developing story on the Trichy building collapse. Rescue operations are going on in the hope of saving lives.

Chennai Connect, the official twitter handle of Chennai reporting team of The Hindu stated that two people were dead and four others were injured in the Trichy building collapse in Rockfort. It tweeted that fire fighters are undertaking the rescue operations.

The Trichy building collapse comes just a couple of days after a five-storey Mumbai building collapse in Bhendi Bazaar killing 33 people and injuring 14. It was the 117-year-old Hussaini building that had been reduced to rubble following heavy rains in Mumbai.
