White gunman leaves 59 dead, 527 injured in Las Vegas mass shooting

Las Vegas mass shooting : A lone gunman, Stephen Paddock identified as a 64-year-old white male opened fire at a country music concert in Las Vegas leaving at least 59 dead and 527 injured on Sunday night.

The gunman in the Las Vegas mass shooting carried out what was easily one of the deadliest shooting incidents in the US from the 32nd floor of a hotel named Mandalay Bay using multiple rifles.

When police could finally spot the location of the gunman, they found him dead after he shot himself. Stephen Paddock fired indiscriminately at a crowd of 22,000 people who had come to the concert.

The ISIS or the Islamic State has taken responsibility of the Las Vegas mass shooting, claiming that Stephen Paddock had recently converted to Islam.

However, the US government dismissed that the Las Vegas shooting incident was not carried out on the behest of any foreign terror group but was believed to be done by a frustrated and mentally unbalanced person. Besides, there was no evidence to connect the Las Vegas mass shooting as an ISIS terror attack.

The gunman Stephen Paddock in the Las Vegas shooting incident had stored 16 firearms in the hotel room. According to the police, he had broken the room’s window with a hammer type of object before firing in a sadist manner with his automatic weapons.

Stephen Paddock did not have any prior criminal record. However, his late father was reportedly a bank robber who had featured on the most wanted list of fugitives released by the FBI.

Police carried out a raid at Stephen Paddock’s home in Mesquite, 145km from Las Vegas where they found 18 firearms , explosives and thousands of rounds of ammunition.

The motive behind the gunman’s firing in the Las Vegas mass shooting is yet to b established. It is also not clear as how the hotel security could miss out on an inmate who kept several weapons in his room.
